Coexistence of humans and machines is vital

On Friday, February 22, 2019, I presented at the International Conference on Business & Economics 2019 (ICBE HOU), at Athens, our latest Paper entitled: "What HR Professionals in Greece Believe About the Future of HRM".

The purpose of this article was to investigate the trends and potential options among organizations operating in Greece to create a framework of HRM rules that reinstates and strengthens human contribution and utility in the era of Industry 4.0.

Findings indicate that coexistence of humans and machines is vital to the sustainability and societal balance of an enterprise. HR professionals are responsible for the reform and development of human capital, giving people the values that they deserve, while rationally exploiting machines. Human resource department must re-strategize in order to stay abreast and relevant in this age of technology.

It is important to mention that 71.4% of research respondents said it is necessary for businesses to reduce the number of human workers in order to remain competitive, but 57.1% agree that the final decisions when managing a business need to be processed by humans.
