Microneedles will affect our lives considerably and this is how

Do you know what is called as a microneedle, how medicine can use it, and what is the aftermath of this approach? Will we be able to understand where a microneedle is embedded, and how its user can operate it? What data can be collected and delivered through this pioneering technology?

In fact, the problem that can be solved with the use of microneedles is about transdermal administration of the drugs according to practitioners. Topical creams and transdermal patches are now widely used, however new technologies offer new great solutions.

Therefore, as a cream or a transdermal approach involves disruption of the skin layer, the use of microneedles can create micron size pathways that lead the drug directly into the human systemic circulation without facing skin disruption.

Using microneedles is faster, painless, sufficient, and quite better for the patient. It does not have negative effect on skin pores, while it can be made from silicon, metal, silica glass, polymer, and other types of material.

Why it is important to have an eye on microneedles? Because microneedles have been used to deliver a spectacular range of different low molecular weight drugs, biotherapeutics, and vaccines. The latter implies that in a pandemic environment business and mainly health care entities could force people to use such mechanisms to take a vaccine to cope with the current global situation and COVID-19.

Thus, it is critical for business to avoid a strict policy over vaccination of their workforce. Microneedles are used for clinical practice to enable better pharmaceutical therapies, vaccination, and even other applications, but further corporate policies should be established to avoid misinformation on the necessity of vaccination and the side effects of a negative choice. In terms of microneedles this technology could be used without patient’s permission, as its size and implementation process can be invisible under concrete conditions.
