Technology can change the way we think and remember

Technology seems to have the capacity to change the way we think and remember. It seems that we lose a part of the trust level we place in our own mind. Many times, we try to capture our present on digital forms of information storage, and we forget how to live the moment, experience the present, and create actual memories!

For instance, people who rely entirely on digital navigation may develop the ability of locating themselves in a city, or a place. Also, if you like taking photos of everything you see it is a nice hobby. But is it good for your memory? You can capture the view into a photo. However, are you able to transform this memory into experience on your brain storage? If not, then why do you keep doing this to yourself?

No, you are not the only one. We do it, all of us. The amount of available information nowadays is huge. We cannot avoid the use of machines. We cannot remember without a memory boost, a digital helper, our digital companion.

Technology can do the remembering for us, while we focus on human-centered things. This strategy is critical, as it frees up brain resources that can then be used on important things for us. If we use technology at a rational pace, then we can ease our brain stress level.

The genes associated with our intelligence and thinking skills are unique for everyone. Artificial intelligence (AI) is not capable of relying on human brain capacity yet. However, scientists are trying to deal with this challenge. Will technology dominate the brain war between machines and human beings? We do not know yet. Though, this is in our own hands. We want machines smarter to make us less smart? Or do we want machines smarter to help us reach the optimum level? The human brain is a miracle!
