Global leaders head to Davos: Once upon a time, human was first

The well-known Davos meeting is once again the epicenter of global attention. Leaders are going to the World Economic Forum 2024 to discuss global security, job creation, climate initiatives, and artificial intelligence development.

The 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), scheduled from the 15 to the 19 of January 2024. The topics are more or less the same each year. But what does it mean? It means that leaders forget to talk about more practical issues, in the context of human capital.

They want to approach a solution on global security, while they cannot ensure that each person on earth is able to have access to clean water, and basic infrastructure. They talk about job creation, but they cannot talk about income inequalities. They discuss climate change, while they cannot find new ways of living on a fast pace growing global population.

Over 100 governments and major international organizations will be there. It is the chance to discuss interesting and practical topics, not the expected ones. I expect to listen again about the reimagination of the economic framework to foster growth. How many times do we need to reimagine, and then forget what our imagination was about?

I cannot understand the long-term strategies when they exceed the human limits in terms of time. Why set a strategy for 50 years later, when the current leaders will be out of the political lights? Who will be there to reply if the plan goes wrong? At that time, they will not care about our votes.
