The pandemic event of Covid-19 is still here. This is not, however, the reason to stop every economic activity around the world. Thus, we must ensure that workers have great working conditions, they feel safe, and everyone together can make added value to achieve corporate and personal goals.
Travelling for work is a major problem for most workers at big cities. In small places, this is not very important, but still, people prefer to work less in most cases of questioning. Companies must invest on programs for enhancing the employee experience, and help human capital choose, if possible, depending on job characteristics, whether they want to work remotely.
Human resource professionals are faced with a lot of challenges during the pandemic event. HR work is more complicated than ever. How can you manage people through a screen? Is it possible to achieve the same level of trust through e-mails?
Actually, yes! Moving work and a big part of our daily activity online is not the problem. People who cannot understand this situation is a problem(?), but they maintain their chances to access the new global patterns.
What HR professionals can do? Digital transformation is happening, and HR department must exploit it. New competencies for hybrid work must be developed. Keeping the balance and a positive pace in a rapidly changing society is a critical challenge.
Companies must focus on developing specialized skills that their workers will need. A massive upskilling and reskilling program can be beneficial as well. The leaders of this development must ensure that each individual has at least a chance to react on these global changes and take advantage of new abilities.
